Mission
The mission of the Granville Education Foundation is to enrich and enhance the quality of life in our community by building and maintaining stewardship of a community trust to provide funding for superior, innovative, educational programs that exceed our District's financial resources.
Purpose
The foundation's sole intent is to enrich programs and instruction by collecting charitable contributions that will benefit Granville schools. The foundation provides funds for these programs through a grant process, open to all teachers and staff in the Granville School District.

History
The Granville Education Foundation was officially established in 1994 by local business and community leaders, with the approval of the Granville Board of Education, as an independent, non-profit organization. A volunteer Board of Trustees was appointed to conduct the business of the Foundation.
Its original name, “The Granville Schools Charitable Foundation” was changed in 1998 to “The Granville Schools Education Foundation.” In 2001 the name was changed to its present, “The Granville Education Foundation.”
Granville Schools
The Granville Exempted Village School District currently has an enrollment of about 2500 students housed in 4 buildings: the Elementary School (grades K-3), the Intermediate School (grades 4-6), the Middle School (grades 7-8), and the High School (grades 9-12). Teachers and staff from any of these buildings may apply for grants from the GEF.
Board Members
The Foundation is administered by a volunteer Board of Trustees that acts independently and separately from the Granville Board of Education. There are three classes of trustees: Permanent Trustees, appointed by virtue of position; Appointed Trustees, representing various categories of community members; and At-Large Trustees. Appointed trustees serve 3-year terms and may serve up to two full terms.
The Board meets periodically throughout the year to administer the business of the Foundation. In addition to the Board, an Executive Director oversees the daily operations of the Foundation.
